Connor's recital featured Improv et Caprice (Bozza), Sequenza (Berio), Fantasia (Smith) and Movement #3 of the Italian Concerto (Bach). Connor concluded the recital with a performance of Aria (Bozza), a nod to his grandmother who, a major influence on him to pursue his interests in music, accompanied him on piano.
Congratulations, Connor!

A Connor Retrospect
Connor applied to the School of Music via DVD audition from Abu Dhabi. He was accepted into the UVic Saxophone Class in 2014. A highly self motivated individual, he competed in the Under-19 category and completed the
Abu Dhabi International Triathlon in 2014.
Connor has been a prepared and capable saxophone student. He is an affable individual with a great sense of (self deprecating) humour. He is currently completing studies in the Music Education program. Connor has been an active participant in and workshop facilitator for the
Music Discoveries weekend for middle school students sponsored by the UVic Student Music Educators' Association (
UVSMEA). While maintaining a busy academic schedule, he has also applied himself diligently as a reservist (uniformed member) of the 5th (BC) Field Regiment,
Royal Canadian Artillery Band, joining other accomplished UVic graduates in concert.
Connor has a keen ear for detail that enables him to be an effective mentor and coach. His 2018 quartet, comprised of Skye, Jay and Michael, was actively involved in the School's noon hour recitals. Connor's quartet recently competed successfully in the Greater Victoria Music Festival.
Conscientious and supportive of his peers, Connor's engaging personality and thoughtful contributions to the community of the School of Music have been much appreciated. We have no doubt that Connor will succeed in every endeavour.
