GVPAF Highlights

Congratulations to all UVic saxophonists who participated and who won their categories in the GVPFA 2021! Here is a schedule of events for the highlights concerts.

The 2021 Virtual Highlights Concert Series has begun! 

Go to gvpaf.org and click on Highlights Concerts.  Admission is by donation.

All concerts will be available until December 2021.

Future concert dates are:

May 7: Speech and Dramatic Arts
May 10: Piano

May 12: Four Sections featuring Brass, Classical Guitar, Woodwinds and Composition

May 14: Classical Voice and Musical Theatre
May 17: Large Ensembles (Choral, School Bands, School Orchestras) and Fiddle
May 19: School Dance

May 21: Roberto and Mary Wood Scholarship Concert featuring performers from Classical Guitar, Piano, Strings, Classical Voice and Woodwinds.

In Appreciation of William Grant Still; A Virtual Benefit Concert


A concert organized by Baylie K. Adams for Black History Month.


(T)he concert was presented in honour of the composer William Grant Still. He was one of the first of many influential classical composers of African-American heritage. His music holds historic importance in that he was the first African-American to conduct an orchestra in the US and have his Afro-American Symphony performed by a mainstream orchestra in the US.
