It is with much joy and pride that we congratulate Sylvan Wilkinson, BMus Performance 2024, on the success of a well-attended and polished graduating recital.
Sylvan hails from Alberta and successfully entered the Performance Program in Second Year. A confident and artistically sensitive performer, and an outstanding participant in all aspects of programming, Sylvan has been an exemplary representative of the School of Music. Sylvan was the Class Peer Representative whose timely input, example of excellence, goodwill, thoughtful concern and support for others, has helped shape the success of the UVic Saxophone Class.
In addition to being a pillar of the Wind Symphony Saxophone Section, Sylvan enjoyed many other significant accomplishments. Among them:
- First Place in Woodwinds Excellence, BC Performing Arts Festival, Penticton
- Second Place in the woodwind category of the 2023 FCMF National Music Festival
- Participant: Université Européenne De Saxophone 2023
- Winner: Roberto and Mary Wood Scholarship
