Proteus Quartet visits UVic: master class

The UVic Saxophone studio was pleased to welcome the Proteus Quartet to the University of Victoria.

The Proteus Quartet conducted a master class for our quartets and octet this past Wednesday, September 30th.

THE MIDNIGHTS are known for their energetic performances and their covers of Motown, pop, and R&B songs. The group was founded by Eric Emde and is a mix of local professionals and graduates from the Vic High R&B Band.

Vocals: Teal Macrae, Raine Balson, Holy Spriggs, Sage Lacerte, Rianne Craig and Greg Baan-Meiklejohn.

Rhythm Section: Chris Neal, guitar; Duncan Meiklejohn, keys/vocals; Jon Baglo, bass; Eric Emde, drums.

Horn Section: Dave Flello, trumpet; saxophones—Jacqui Sullivan, alto; Wendell Clanton, tenor; Eric Hughes, baritone.
